PLANET 51

THE PROJECT

Planet 51 is a feature film made by Ilion Animation Studio in 2009. The project was the most expensive in the history of Spanish cinema with a budget in excess of 90 millions euros and won the Goya award for best Spanish animated film.

MY WORK AT PLANET 51

My role on this movie was an fx artist and I worked primarily making volumetric effects with Maya Fluids, such as fire, smoke, sparks or dust trails.

 

Planet 51 was the first time that I worked on a feature film and so demanded great quality; and I felt really comfortable with my work here. It was a great challenge but the good schedules and the supervision of Javier Romero keep the work moving always in the right direction to get the final approval by the director of the film, Jorge Blanco.
